Gathering Sunday 20th Sept
Sunday morning and we were fortunate in having a nice dry day. As usual our gathering was held at Middleton St George Cricket Club by kind permission of the committee. This is an ideal venue for a one day show our having the use of the concert room should the weather change, toilet facilities and of course the “bar” which opens at lunch time. Jackie kept everyone “well fed”, making sausage or bacon sandwiches in the morning then pie and peas at lunch time. Jackie also brought a large selection of pies, scones and cakes which she sold throughout the day. Chicken and mushroom pie was my favourite! I’m sure she would appreciate feedback on what was yours. Also on the “catering.” Wendy kept the kettle going all day selling tea and coffee. The profit from this she kindly donates back into club funds. A big thankyou Wendy from all of us.
We had a good turnout of vehicles on the day with some popping in for an hour and others happy to stay all day and catch up with fellow members,(it has been a busy summer). At one part of the day we had 24 cars on display. Thankyou all. For the first time at this event we had 2 classic caravans on display. Thank you to the Dunn family for bringing these exhibits, they created a lot of interest.
